How We Hear

The ear is simply an incredible organ.  However, once damage has occurred it is often irreversible.  Thanks to modern technology, we are generally able to help the hearing impaired.

So how do we hear?

As you may have guessed, sound enters the ear (what we call the pinna), travels down the ear canal and hits the ear drum. From there the vibrations travell through the bones in your “middle ear” into the “inner ear” (the cochlear). This is where the vibrations are converted into electrical impulses, which are sent to the brain for interpretation.
