Hearing Test

How do you know if you have a hearing loss?

I’m sure you would agree that your close family and friends would notice if your hearing is not as good as it used to be.  If you really think about what your friends and family have previously said, how do they feel about your hearing?

Please answer the Quiz below to help self assess how your hearing is.  Keep a record of how many “Yes” answers you have made: (Tip: ask your partner or friend to also rate your hearing using the quiz)

1. Do your family or friends say that you have the TV louder than others do? Yes No
2. Is your hearing better in one ear than the other? Yes No
3. Do you strain to hear in crowds? Yes No
4. Do you find yourself regularly asking people to repeat themselves? Yes No
5. Do you feel people mumble or speak too quickly? Yes No
6. Do your family/friends feel that you have hearing difficulties? Yes No
7. Do you sometimes miss-hear what has been said? Yes No

Answering “Yes” to any of these questions strongly suggests that you should contact us for a hearing assessment.

When you have your hearing assessed we recommend that your partner or a close family friend, who knows and understands your hearing and any difficulties you may have, could be with you. They will be asked to play an important role in the assessment by using their familiar voice.

If a hearing loss is discovered, your family or friend will be able to assist you with the live
“Digital Hearing” demonstration and can help assess your level of improvement.
